Description

Description

GDC Extraction Forceps are a perfect need for extractions in minor oral surgery.

Tooth Extracting forceps are used to extract teeth designed for use in specific areas of the mouth. The beak is shaped to confirm snugly the contour of the tooth. This makes it easier to reach different teeth effectively. Dental forceps handles are shaped so that a maximum amount of force can be applied to the beaks, while the handles are still in a comfortable position for the oral surgeon.

Direction Of Use

Preparation:

  • Ensure that the forceps are properly sterilized through autoclaving at 135 degrees Celsius before use.
  • Prepare the patient for the extraction procedure by administering local anesthesia and providing appropriate isolation and suction equipment.

Selection of Forceps:

  • Confirm that the Upper Molars Extraction Forceps (FX18AS) are suitable for the specific tooth to be extracted (left upper molar).
  • Verify that the beak shape matches the contours of the tooth for effective grip and extraction.

Positioning:

  • Position the patient comfortably in the dental chair with adequate lighting and access to the oral cavity.
  • Use a mouth prop or other appropriate means to ensure the patient’s mouth remains open during the procedure.

Grasping the Tooth:

  • Hold the Upper Molars Extraction Forceps (FX18AS) in your dominant hand with the beaks facing the tooth to be extracted.
  • Insert the beaks of the forceps into the gingival sulcus, ensuring proper placement and alignment with the tooth’s roots.

Apply controlled pressure to firmly grasp the tooth, taking care not to damage surrounding tissues.

Extraction Technique:

  • Once the tooth is securely gripped, apply gentle rotational movements in a buccolingual direction to loosen the tooth from its socket.
  • If necessary, use additional elevators or luxators to aid in the elevation and dislodging of the tooth.

Avoid excessive force to minimize trauma to the surrounding tissues and facilitate a smoother extraction process.

Extraction Completion:

  • Once the tooth is adequately mobilized, carefully lift it out of the socket using the forceps.
  • Inspect the extraction site for any remaining fragments or debris, ensuring thorough removal to prevent postoperative complications.

Post-Extraction Care:

  • Provide appropriate postoperative instructions to the patient, including guidelines for pain management, oral hygiene, and dietary restrictions.
  • Monitor the patient for any signs of complications such as excessive bleeding or swelling, and provide follow-up care as needed.

Cleaning and Sterilization:

  • After use, clean the Upper Molars Extraction Forceps (FX18AS) thoroughly with warm water to remove any residual debris.
  • Perform ultrasonic cleaning as recommended for articulated instruments to ensure complete disinfection.
  • Autoclave the forceps at 135 degrees Celsius for sterilization before storing them for future use.
