The GDC Endo Excavator -6 Exc33L is a dental instrument used for cutting and removing the carious dentine of a decayed tooth.

  • Access: Create an access cavity in the affected tooth using appropriate dental drills and burs, exposing the pulp chamber.
  • Visualization: Use appropriate dental mirrors and illumination to visualize the pulp chamber and root canals clearly.
  • Removal of Pulp and Debris: Take the GDC Endo Excavator -1 Exc32l and gently insert the spoon-shaped or excavator-like tip into the pulp chamber and root canals.
  • Scrape and Remove Debris: Carefully scrape and remove any remaining dental pulp, decayed dentin, or debris from the pulp chamber and canals using the excavator. Use controlled, gentle movements to avoid damaging the tooth structure.
  • Irrigation: Periodically rinse the area with an irrigating solution, such as sodium hypochlorite or sterile saline, to flush out debris and disinfect the canals.
  • Repeat as Needed: Continue using the excavator to remove pulp and debris from all accessible areas of the pulp chamber and canals until the area appears clean.
  • Final Cleaning: Once satisfied with the cleaning, thoroughly irrigate and dry the area before proceeding with further steps in the root canal treatment, such as shaping and obturation.
