Plastic filling instruments, also known as placement instruments, are designed for placing and contouring pliable restorative materials into cavity preparations and other dental procedures. These instruments generally have rounded ends that help in applying restoratives without damaging sensitive tissue.

• Preparation: Ensure the instrument is clean and sterilized before use. Select the appropriate size based on the cavity preparation.
• Material Placement: Use the flat end to carry and apply the restorative material into the cavity without causing tissue damage.
• Shaping & Contouring: Gently contour the material to match the natural anatomy of the tooth.
• Condensing: Utilize the condenser end to compact and adapt the material within the cavity for better retention and stability.

INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING MAINTENANCE:-

• Composite instrument ends should be gently wiped with an alcohol-saturated swab/gauze immediately after use. This minimizes thin layers of composite from building up after use and extends the life of the instrument. The instrument should be then cleaned & sterilized as recommended
• Ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for the instrument.
• Use only standard and reputed brands of disinfectant solutions.
