GDC Osteotomes Flat Straight with Cassette Set Of 6 (OSTMPUWC6)

The GDC flat osteotomes are commonly used in dental sinus lifting procedures, also known as sinus augmentation or sinus grafting. During a sinus lift, the sinus membrane is lifted, and a bone graft material is placed underneath to increase the height of the bone in the upper jaw. This creates a more suitable environment for dental implant placement in patients who have experienced bone loss in the upper jaw. Flat osteotomes are used in the process of preparing the site for the bone graft. After the membrane is lifted, the surgeon will use a series of flat osteotomes to gently pack the bone graft material into place and compress it against the existing bone. This helps to ensure that the bone graft material is evenly distributed and in close contact with the existing bone, promoting better integration of the graft with the surrounding bone tissue.

Features
  • Flat Design: These osteotomes typically have a concave shape, which allows for precise placement and manipulation of bone graft material during sinus lift procedures.
  • Set of 6: The set typically includes six osteotomes of various sizes or shapes to accommodate different surgical needs. Having a variety of sizes helps the surgeon adapt to the specific anatomy of the patient.
  • Stainless Steel Construction: Osteotomes are usually made of high-quality stainless steel, which is durable, corrosion-resistant, and can be easily sterilized.
  • Cassette: The instruments are often provided in a cassette or tray, which helps keep them organized and sterile during storage and transportation.
  • Ergonomic Handles: Many osteotomes come with ergonomic handles that provide a comfortable grip and control during surgical procedures.
