Luxatip are used to force a wedge between the root of the tooth and the surrounding bone,which helps to loosen the tooth within the socket.Luxatips are often used before the use of forceps to ensure there is some movement of the tooth to be extracted.L2S – Straight Blade – 2mm – Apical and/or interproximal.

Direction to Use
  • Preparing the instrument: Ensure that the Luxatip is sterilized before use. Inspect for any signs of damage or wear. Do not use a damaged instrument; request a replacement.
  • Selecting the Luxatip: Assess the tooth and choose the appropriate Luxatip size and shape based on location and clinical requirements for effective luxation.
  • Positioning and grip: Hold the Luxatip in the dominant hand with a firm, comfortable grip. Position the working end near the target tooth with correct angulation.
  • Applying pressure: Gently insert the Luxatip between the tooth and surrounding bone. Apply controlled pressure with slight rocking or rotational movements, avoiding excessive force.
  • Progressing the luxation: Gradually increase pressure and continue movements to loosen the tooth, adapting based on the tooth’s response.
  • Assisting extraction: Once adequately luxated, use extraction forceps or suitable instruments to remove the tooth, ensuring patient comfort.
  • Cleaning and sterilization: Clean the instrument thoroughly after use, rinse and dry properly, and follow standard sterilization procedures before next use.
